Using a professional shampoo effectively requires a more targeted approach than standard drugstore varieties, as these concentrated formulas are designed to deeply treat both the scalp and the hair shaft.

The Prep:

• Drench Completely: Thoroughly saturate your hair with warm water. Professional shampoos are highly concentrated; soaking your hair completely helps activate the product and creates a richer lather.
• The Amount: Dispense a quarter-sized amount of shampoo into your palms. Because it is highly concentrated, you rarely need more than this, regardless of your hair length

Application & Scalp Focus

• Emulsify: Rub the shampoo between your hands for a few seconds. This evenly distributes the product and activates the ingredients.
• Roots First: Apply the shampoo directly to the scalp, focusing on the roots, crown, and the nape of your neck.
• Massage, Don't Scrub: Use the pads of your fingertips (not your fingernails) to massage your scalp in circular motions for 1 to 2 minutes. This stimulates blood flow while lifting dirt and excess oils without causing damage.

Cleansing the Lengths

• Work Downward: Instead of piling your hair on top of your head (which causes friction and tangling), simply let the soapy lather run down the mid-lengths and ends as you rinse.
